It was founded in 2004 under the direction of David J.A. Clines, J. Cheryl Exum, and Keith W. Whitelam, and from 2018 to 2022 was directed by David J.A. Clines and Jeremy M.S. Note especially that individual scholars or students may purchase the hardback edition of any Sheffield Phoenix book at a 50 percent discount, whenever a paperback edition is not available. To qualify for this discount, you must be a scholar or a student ordering a book for yourself or to give to another person free of charge. You may not buy a book for resale, and you may not buy a book on behalf of an institution or library. The discount does not apply to institutions, libraries, booksellers, and any customer determined to be outside the category of individual scholar and student.
